D&D term: NPCs, or Non-Player Characters, are characters in a Dungeons & Dragons game that are controlled by the Dungeon Master (DM), not by the players. They are the cast of characters that fill out the world, the people, creatures, and entities the player characters (PCs) interact with during their adventures.
